The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for specialized machine repair, diagnostics, rebuilding of equipment, preventative maintenance, alignment, capability analysis, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, facilities, electronic and electrical concerns.

EDUCATION:  Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance, preferred; or 2 – 3 years previous

maintenance experience required

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•     Negotiates with vendors when ordering parts or service to ensure effective and efficient repairs/solutions.

•     Diagnoses, analyzes and corrects equipment problems and failures.

•     Repairs and upgrades equipment and facilities

•     Trouble shoots and corrects hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic concerns.

•     Programs programmable logic controller equipment.

•     Design and implements machine modifications.

•     Installs and sets up new equipment.

•     Make recommendations and provides information for capital acquisitions.

•     Provides preventative maintenance and preventative maintenance analysis.

•     Assist in the training of apprentice and other personnel as assigned.

•     Performs record keeping as assigned.

•     Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly

•     Exercises care in the use of equipment.

•     Adheres to company safety rules and government regulations

•     Performs miscellaneous duties as required.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Safety shoes are required.  Hearing protection and safety glasses may be required in certain areas.

TRAINING REQUIRED:

General training is required for safety topics which may include: right-to-know chemical safety, bloodborne pathogens and lifting safely.

Specific training is required for: forklift, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, confined space entry, fall protection, hotwork permits, fire extinguishers, fire protection system, and respiratory training.
