Welders 1st and 2nd shifts! ( Sign On Bonus $1000)

Summary :  This individual will report to the Weld and Beam Manager.  This is a safety sensitive position because this individual will be using welding guns and machines, grinders, hoists, lifting equipment, forklifts, combi’s, break press, shears, tube benders, robotic welders, plasma and other machines, equipment and power and hand tools.  This is a safety sensitive position because this individual will be working with welding equipment including welding machines and needles, grinders, sanders, hoists, banders, forklift and/or combis, pallet jacks or Big Joe.  Will also be using a variety of power and hand tools including saws.  Could also be working on machines such as brake press, shears, plasma, tube benders, laser and robotic welders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·         Reads and understands blueprints or schematics prior to starting a project.

·         Sources materials to be used in the project.

·         Measures and cuts materials to specifications if needed.

·         Starts power supply to produce electric current.

·         Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture.

·         Tacks assemblies together.

·         Welds by using the correct materials to join the metals together.

·         Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified weld.

·         Cleans or degreases weld joint or workpiece. Chips/removes excess weld, slag, and splatter.

·         Checks finished work to make sure that it falls within tolerances.

Education and/or Experience                                                     

·            High School Diploma or equivalent

·            1-2 years of education/experience preferred

Language Skills                                           

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills                                                

Ability to calculate figures and amounts using addition, subtraction and division. Ability to read and understand fractions.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability                                                    

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
