This wooded park surrounds the North Fork Maquoketa River and is located just 5 miles north of Dyersville off Highway 136 and 7 miles from the Field of Dreams. It includes picnicking areas, stream access, scenic trails, playgrounds, public hunting areas, disc golf, and camping facilities with accessible showers and restrooms. The two-mile hiking trail leads through the heavily forested portion of the park which was once decimated by a tornado but has rebounded providing habitat for many types of wildlife from deer, and turkey to elusive long-eared owls. This park offers a taste of everything from restored prairies, mature and young forests, meandering streams, and lush green bottomland. From hiking with your dog to snowshoeing with your friends this park is a must-see!
