Summary

This position requires working rotating 12 hour shifts which includes weekends and night availability and occasional mandatory overtime.

The Process Operator operates machinery and equipment necessary in the production of ethanol and co-products, including the loading of these products and testing and monitoring of the entire process on a 12 hour shift basis.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

This position is expected to learn all areas of the plant and process of converting corn into fuel grade ethanol through the dry mill process.
Follow all federal, state and local regulations.
Complete all duties in a safe and efficient manner at all times
Responsible for testing all required equipment and completion of all related records
Proper completion of all records related to the products loaded for shipment from the plant site.
Collect, test, analyze and record results of samples taken from process.
Proper completion of all environmental compliance reading and recording the data accurately
Keep current on the status of all operating procedures and equipment
Utilize computerized maintenance management system.
Handle various chemicals needed for ethanol production (acids, bases, enzymes, anhydrous ammonia, water treatment chemicals, etc….).
Troubleshoot equipment and operational problems
Housekeeping of work area and facility
Properly document any accidents and/or injuries.
Timely loading of distillers corn oil trucks.
Timely unloading of chemicals and other products used in the process
Other duties as may be assigned to accomplish the safe and timely day-to-day operations within the plant.
Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Ability to work well with others and ability to work independently
Basic mechanical abilities
Ability to work on elevated platforms and climb ladders
Ability to work in various weather situations
High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to operate or be trained on the operation of mobile equipment (forklift, skid steer, front end load, scissors lift and aerial man lift.)
