The Dyersville community is excited to be hosting RAGBRAI XXXV on July 27 as the last overnight for this year’s event. We look forward to working with all non-profit and for-profit commercial vendors to make the event a success and of course to help feed the thousands of visitors we will have! We want to make sure that this event is very beneficial for the Dyersville community and to make sure of that, we will be working with our local (local is defined by any business or organization within 10 miles of the Dyersville Post Office) non-profit and for-profit organizations first and then will work with those from outside the area. The City of Dyersville and Dyersville RAGBRAI, want to make sure each vendor has a great and profitable event. It can be a success if everyone works together to make sure that happens. Please keep in mind that no person, organization or business can provide or sell food or merchandise to the public on July 27, 2007 or July 28, 2007 at an outside location at the Event Site or within the City Limits without obtaining a RAGBRAI Vendor Permit from the City of Dyersville. Those Dyersville businesses and churches that operate only from inside their regularly established locations are exempt from the requirements. The following will highlight what category you will fall under when filling out your Vendor Form. Non-Profit: This would be if you are an Iowa non-profit with a 501(C)(3), a church, boy scouts or girl scouts, or any organization whose purpose it to raise money to benefit their non-profit organization. Any group or organization will be reviewed by the City of Dyersville and Dyersville RAGBRAI to determine participation and eligibility in the event. For-Profit: This would be appropriately licensed businesses. Any business will be reviewed by the City of Dyersville and Dyersville RAGBRAI to determine participation in the event. Fees: These fees are set up for all non-profit organizations and for all for-profit businesses for local and non-local businesses and organizations. $200 for non-profit local organizations $300 for for-profit local organizations $400 All non-local (for profit & non-profit) organizations (Local is defined as any business or organization within 10 miles of the Dyersville Post Office) $50 for electricity which includes 4 standard 110 outlets These fees will be required to be submitted along with a completed Vendor Form before any application is accepted. The above fees will help in costs to run the event. Location: The location for food and non food vendors will be primarily at the event site. Pricing: Each booth determines the price of their product. A suggestion would be to price your items in the $1 increment. Please remember to be fair to those participating in RAGBRAI when pricing your items. Don’t forget to list your prices on the application. Food Safety & Sanitation: We don’t want to have any bad experiences with food at the event. It will be required that every food vendor attends a Food Safety class with the Dubuque County Food Inspector before receiving final approval into the event. We will send out the information on the Food Safety class. Please note that all food suppliers, both at the event site and in your own place of business, will be inspected by the Food Inspector. Non-Food Vendors: Please make sure to fill out what your business or organization will be selling at the event. Insurance: All vendors will be required to show proof of liability insurance coverage of $500,000. Refer to Vendor Form. Hours of Service: It is recommended that food vendors be set up and ready to serve by 10 a.m. This will allow time for food inspection and also to take care of those who are in town early. Busy times for the event will probably be between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Note that the vendor area is being set up next to the Beverage / Entertainment Garden and it is recommended that food booths stay open until the Beverage / Entertainment Garden closes at 12 a.m. Electricity: Electricity access will be limited, please plan accordingly. All Trailers / Booths who are not in compliance with the national Electrical Code or are unsafe because of grounding, deterioration or any other cause will not be supplied electricity. Note that there is a $50 fee for four 110 outlets. Make sure to mark your requirements on the Food Vendor form. Clean-Up: In order to help with the event, we ask that all vendors clean up their respected areas before leaving your booth. Trash cans & dumpsters will be provided. All vendors at the event site will be required to have their location cleaned up and evacuated by 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28. Signage: The City of Dyersville will issue the appropriate vendor permit. The Vendor Permit is to be posted at all times in a clearly visible area during the event. It is recommended that each vendor take care of making their own pricing signs along with vendor name. Also, a back up sign to put up if food would run out would not be a bad idea to have.
Booth Size: 20 x 20 Dyersville RAGBRAI is excited to help feed the 15,000 to 20,000 people that this event is expected to draw. When you are preparing for this event make sure to plan accordingly for the event, if you plan well you will have a great event. At your booth you might consider incorporating the Dyersville theme “Ride the Distance” which is related to Dyersville’s rich baseball history. This event is will only be as successful as each vendor makes it. The Dyersville Vendor Committee want to make sure that it is a great event for everyone who participated.
