Veteran Trekkers Anthony Anderson and Tom Voss will be stopping at Dyersville on their journey Friday, Sept. 13th at 5:30 at the Field of Dreams Movie Site. These two Iraq war veterans are walking from Milwaukee to Los Angeles in an effort to raise $100k for Dryhootch and awareness of veteran's issues such as PTSD, suicide and homelessness! “Paranoia” is a role playing game set in the future, where the players hunt down enemies of the computer who seek to disrupt the love and peace it has created. This is a fun, loose Role Playing Games that is tons of fun for beginners and experts alike. This program will be held on Saturday, September 14 from 2:00-4:00pm. All ages are welcome, however, the game may have some adult content unsuitable for younger players. Refreshments will be provided.
The Field of Dreams Movie Site is honored to be hosting so many great legends from baseball at one time, it truly will be magical for many to see them walk out of the corn. Thirteen former Major League Baseball stars, including 10 Hall of Famers will take part in the game that will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Some of the great baseball players that will attend are: Pete Rose, Reggie Jackson, Jim Rice, Johnny Bench, Wade Boggs, Jim Palmer, Rod Carew, Bruce Sutter, Carlton Fisk, Ozzie Smith and Paul Molitor. Dwight Gooden and Frank Thomas also are scheduled to play.

Banned Books Week highlights the benefits of free and open access to information while drawing attention to the harms of censorship by spotlighting actual or attempted bannings of books across the United States. The library will have an interactive display of challenged and banned books for patrons to peruse and a commemorative bookmark for patrons to take home. The library invites you to bring your lunch and your favorite banned book (or pick one up at the library) and join others at 12 noon to talk about and celebrate banned books. There will be information and trivia about banned books and favors for all those who attend. The library will provide drinks and dessert!
